Julie Fingersh is a writer, strategic marketing consultant, and writing mentor for teens navigating the college application process. Formerly, she was a writer for Business Week and Billboard Magazine and author of an award-winning humorist column, "It's None of my Business, but..." Julie went on to become founding executive director of Boston Cares, which recently celebrated its 24-year anniversary as a nationally recognized model for building innovative community and corporate partnerships. She inaugurated Boston’s first-ever day of citywide corporate service with former Secretary of State General Colin Powell (RET) and former Boston Mayor Tom Menino. A featured guest on WBUR's "The Connection" with Christopher Lydon, she was a regular guest on local and national public radio and television outlets. Julie holds a B.A. in English literature from Swarthmore College and University of Michigan. She lives with her family in Marin County, Calif. She is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post.
