I'm a former animal control officer and shelter animal care manager who loves to hear unique rescue stories and share them. Mom to a house of rescue animals including a dog with short spine syndrome- a rare genetic condition. She's happy and thriving and through her, I've found so many other short spine dogs. She's also the only one with short spine syndrome who is also a certified therapy dog. I wrote a children's book about her called, Cuda, The Most Special Pit Bull. It's a book about accepting differences.
