Julie Leininger Pycior, Professor of History, Manhattan College, is the author of the prize-winning LBJ and MEXICAN AMERICANS: THE PARADOX OF POWER. Her latest book is DEMOCRATIC RENEWAL AND THE MUTUAL AID LEGACY OF US MEXICANS. She also edited the best-selling book by Bill Moyers, MOYERS ON AMERICA: A JOURNALIST AND HIS TIMES. Her current book project is "Bearing Witness: Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton and the Question of Belief in Times of Crisis." She has been a historical consultant for PBS documentaries and lectures frequently.
