Julie Woestehoff

Julie Woestehoff is the executive director of Parents United for
Responsible Education (PURE), where she takes on bad school policies and practices that get in the way of children's education. Julie is widely
quoted in local and national media and a frequent speaker on topics of
parent involvement, site-based management, and student testing. Julie's
work has earned her a Ford Foundation leadership award and recognition
as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Chicago. She's a veteran local
school council member and the proud parent of two Chicago Public Schools graduates.
