Kathleen Downes is a disability advocate and a blogger at The Squeaky Wheelchair, where she writes about her life as a young woman with cerebral palsy. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she holds a degree in community health with a concentration in disability studies. She hopes to challenge stereotypes and to represent the disability community as a valuable part of a diverse society.
