Kaeshi Chai

Belly dancer

Kaeshi Chai is an international globe trotting world-fusion belly dancer. She was born in Brunei and brought up in New Zealand and Australia. In 1998, she co-founded Bellyqueen, a professional dance company and school based in NYC, and in 2004, she co-founded PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment), an international community of dancers and musicians, dedicated to creating positive change through art.

She travels extensively teaching and performing and has danced with companies such as Bellydance Superstars and Bella Gaia. She is also a principal dancer with Jillina's Bellydance Evolution and curates a weekly Wednesday dance and music show called Djam NYC at Jebon. In her spare time, Kaeshi studies Mandarin, Robbins-Madanes Strategic Intervention, practices yoga, meditation, comedy improv and enjoys getting foot massages. She is also an award-winning designer and illustrator and graduated with honors in Visual Communication Design from the University of Technology, Sydney. kaeshi.com
