Kai Degner helps leaders and groups listen. He consults, trains, and facilitates listening skills and group meeting strategies. He is founder of The Listening Corps, in international network of people committed to creating positive outcomes by listening. Kai has been involved in civic leadership activities in the Shenandoah Valley for more than a decade. He served as mayor of Harrisonburg, VA, 2009-10 and city council 2009-2016. In 2016, he was the Democratic nominee for Virginia's 6th congressional district. Kai founded The OrangeBand Initiative, has convened over 300 community forums, and is hosting The Founding Principles series. Kai has an M.B.A. from James Madison University and is a real estate agent in Harrisonburg.
