Karen Ann Coburn began her career at Congressional Quarterly’s Governing Magazine. She earned a Master’s degree from USC’s School of Policy, Planning and Development and joined the non-profit NORWESCAP, Inc. where she founded a welfare-to-work in Northern New Jersey. As a freelance writer she has contributed to Businessweek, Governing, and Financial Planning Magazine. Her reporting informed the debate on issues such as lay midwives, elderly drivers and property rights.
