I opened Boing Boing, the 1st breastfeeding shop in the USA in 1996. I have always been passionate about women's issues, and it was my own breast reduction which led me to open a one stop shop that would rent & sell breast pumps, with a knowledgeable woman on hand to answer questions. I have been a NYC substitute teacher, a roofer, a lower east side bartender, phone sex operator, and passionate reader.
After nearly losing my mind, and certainly my soul, from the constant stress of managing a 21st century retail store, I closed it 10/2014 after 18 years.
Now I am free!
I am free to pursue my passions about women's issues, Death with Dignity, Palliative Care, Tibetan Buddhism, the penal system, women and children in need, the normalization of porn, how schools don't handle bullying, and figuring out what the hell I am gonna do about it.
I no longer have the platform of my shop to blog from, and am no longer tethered to just parenting issues.
Besides, I was never a mommy blogger :)
