Karen S. Haynes, Ph.D., is President of California State University (CSU) San Marcos, a comprehensive regional public university in San Diego County serving nearly 13,000 students in San Diego North County, Southwest Riverside County and Southern Orange County. She is the senior female president within the 23-campus CSU system. In 2015, Haynes received the Robert C. Maxson President of the Year Award from the California State Student Association, and in 2014 the Social Work Degree Guide named her the third most influential social worker in the United States.
