Vice-President of FHN USA, and Anthropologist

Karin Friederic is Vice-President and co-founder of FHN USA, an international non-profit organization (www.fhnusa.org), and a Ph.D. Candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Arizona.

In addition to coordinating a community-based health and development project in rural Ecuador, she is completing her Ph.D. with a specialization in global health, NGOs and development, human rights, and gender-based violence in Latin America.

From 2003 to 2006, she was selected as a National Science Foundation Research Fellow. With funding from the National Science Foundation, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, P.E.O. Scholars, and the Harry F. Guggenheim Foundation, she is completing her dissertation on family violence, human rights, and women's health in Northwest Ecuador.
