Karyn Twaronite

EY Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Officer

Karyn Twaronite is responsible for maximizing the diversity of EY professionals across the globe by striving to continually enhance EY’s inclusive culture. She is a Partner at Ernst & Young LLP and a member of EY’s Global Practice Group and the Global Talent Executive. Karyn frequently consults with clients on diversity and inclusiveness matters, serving as an EY thought leader in these areas. Karyn also serves as the EY Americas Inclusiveness Officer, a position she has held since 2011. In addition to leading the Americas D&I team, she serves on the EY Americas Operating Sub-Committee and the EY Americas Talent Executive Committee, and co-chairs the EY Americas Inclusiveness Advisory Council. Most recently, Karyn led the EY D&I work stream and partner advisory group that created the new EY global framework for D&I progress, “Winning through diversity and inclusiveness: a roadmap for success.” This has been distributed globally to all EY partners and Karyn is ultimately responsible for making sure the framework is implemented. Karyn joined EY over 20 years ago as a tax professional, serving clients for the first half of her career before moving into the Talent team. Prior to her current role, Karyn led human resources for the US and Canadian member firms. She has also served on advisory councils for numerous EY professional networks, including Unity (EY’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally professionals network), the Professional Women’s Network; the Black Professional Network; the Pan Asian Professional Network; and the Latino Professional Network. Outside of EY, Karyn is a proud member of the Catalyst Board of Advisors, taking a prominent role in this leading non-profit organization with a mission to expand opportunities for women in business. Karyn received her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Miami University (Ohio) and her Master’s in Taxation from Fordham University. Upon her rotation into HR, she earned a certificate in Strategic Human Resource Management from Harvard Business School. She is a licensed CPA of New York. Karyn, her husband and her son live in New York City.
