Kat's feature directorial debut "L!fe Happens" starring Krysten Ritter, Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson, premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and will open theatrically on April 13. Kat's second film, "While We Were Here" starring Claire Bloom, Jamie Blackley and Kate Bosworth premieres in competition at Tribeca 2012 on April 21. Kat recently wrapped production on her third feature "A Case Of You" with Evan Rachel Wood, Justin Long, Busy Phillips, Brendan Fraser, Sam Rockwell, Vince Vaughn, Peter Dinklage and Keir O'Donnell.

Kat was born in Manhattan and attended boarding school at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan before heading to Carnegie Mellon University where she studied theater and Russian History. She went on to study directing at the Moscow Art Theater in Russia before moving back to New York and Los Angeles where she worked and studied in a variety of capacities including as head of development at Bold Films, as an actress in front of the camera and briefly as a fellow in the Master's program at AFI.

Prior to directing features, Kat wrote and directed a handful of shorts including the viral FOD hit "Idiots" starring Zoe Saldana and Janeane Garofalo.

Kat lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Rhys Coiro and their two children.
