Kathleen Sullivan is an Emmy Award-winning journalist. In 1980, along with 12 men and Ted Turner’s money, she helped create the Cable News Network. After co-hosting “Good Morning America”, “World News This Morning” and “ABC World News Tonight Saturday” for ABC, she moved to CBS News to anchor “CBS This Morning.”

Sullivan was the first woman to host the Olympics, to broadcast live from the Soviet Union and to interview the cosmonauts. She was the only American journalist invited by President and Mrs. Reagan to the 1987 White House State Dinner honoring Mikhail Gorbachev and celebrating the end of the Cold War.

She created the first network health show while at ABC and was host of two syndicated health shows in the 1980s. She is currently working to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness. She sits on the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration) Advisory Council, to which she was appointed by the White House in January 2003.
