Kathy Crandall Robinson is a Senior Fellow at Women in International Security (WIIS), Kathy was recently the Senior Public Policy Director at Women’s Action for New Directions (WAND), a national women’s peace and security organization. Kathy led WAND’s policy and advocacy strategy development with work focused on Congressional budget processes, nuclear weapons policy, Pentagon spending, and promoting the agenda for women, peace, and security. She also managed the WAND Washington, D.C. office and acted as Political Director managing WAND’s PAC. Kathy has two decades of experience working with policymakers and grassroots advocates on nuclear weapons policy and budget issues. Prior to joining WAND in 2008, she worked for a variety of organizations including Physicians for Social Responsibility, the Alliance for Nuclear Accountability, Union of Concerned Scientists, and others. Her passion for this peace and security work was sparked by an internship at Women Strike for Peace. Kathy is a graduate of Earlham College and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado. Kathy has been published on a number of issues including opinion pieces on nuclear weapons dismantlement, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and Pentagon spending and budget politics.
