Katrina L. Rogers

Katrina L. Rogers is a communications and political consultant who’s had clients in politics, fashion, publishing, entertainment and the non-profit sector. After graduating from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, the Shreveport, Louisiana, native returned home and worked as a features writer for The Shreveport Sun, Louisiana’s oldest black weekly newspaper. She also served as a columnist and member of the editorial board for The (Shreveport) Times. In 2008, she covered the Democratic National Convention where her columns were syndicated nationally. She then worked for the Children’s Defense Fund where she was responsible for spearheading the organization’s health care reform campaign in Louisiana. Katrina has been active with the Young Democrats of America (where she served as the National Committeewoman for Louisiana), Organizing for America, Truman National Security Project, Democracy for America, New Leaders Council and New Organizing Institute. She is currently in the process of wrapping up a journalism fellowship where she’s focusing on how senior citizens in New Orleans have had to readapt to life post-Hurricane Katrina.
