In 2012 over half a million people joined high-school student Katy Butler to successfully lobby the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to change the rating of the film Bully from "R" to "PG-13." Weinstein Company co-chairman and outspoken anti-bullying advocate Harvey Weinstein later presented Butler with a Special Recognition Award at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York in recognition of her work. Butler is currently working alongside representative Mike Honda (D-Calif.) to create a national anti-bullying law.
