Katy Ma

Katy Ma is a senior at Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and a teen activist. She currently interns at Givology, a grassroots organization that funds education projects and helps children worldwide receive the means to a quality education. Givology is a 100-percent volunteer-run organization created in 2008 which, so far, has contributed over $300,000 to support projects all over the world! She founded the "I Am Proud" campaign, a project that aims to encourage teens to share their stories, build self esteem, and embrace positive body image--regardless of the projections of 'beauty' constructed by mainstream media and advertising. Above all, she hopes that the campaign can provide teens with a supportive environment that promotes personal growth. Growing up, Katy has lived in Boston, New York City, Memphis, and a small rural town in China -- which, combined, has fostered in a her a great affinity for travelling and exploration.
