Director, Plant Science and Conservation Chicago Botanic Garden
Havens is the Medard and Elizabeth Welch Director at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and a plant science and conservation scientist. She received her Ph.D. from Indiana University, and her research interests include biology of rare and invasive species, plant response to climate change and ex situ plant conservation. She has previously taught biology classes at Northwestern University, Loyola University Chicago and University of Illinois – Chicago.
