Ken Howard is a licensed psychotherapist (LCSW) in private practice in California, and a life/career coach, specializing in gay men, gay male couples, and those living with HIV/AIDS. He is a graduate of UCLA School of Theater, Film, & Television, and the USC School of Social Work, where he is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor, teaching advanced courses in clinical practice in their graduate MSW program. He wrote a monthly HIV mental health column for A&U ("Art and Understanding"), America’s AIDS magazine, and has published numerous journal articles, in addition to two books, "Self-Empowerment: Have the Life You Want!", and "Positive Outlook: Collected Essays for Successfully Living with HIV Today." He was co-chair of the Los Angeles County HIV Mental Health Task Force for 9 years, and served on the Board of Directors of the Lesbian and Gay Psychotherapists Association of Southern California (LAGPA). He had over 10 years experience in local mental health and AIDS service non-profit organizations before going into private practice. He is a person living successfully with HIV/AIDS for over 26 years. He is the founder and director of GayTherapyLA,.com, where he sees clients for therapy or coaching in person, over the phone, or via webcam, worldwide. He lives with his husband and pets in West Hollywood, California.
