Karen Friedman is Executive Vice President and Policy Director of the Pension Rights Center (PRC), the nation's foremost consumer organization dedicated solely to protecting and promoting the retirement security of American workers, retirees and their families. Karen develops and implements strategies and solutions to protect and promote the retirement rights of consumers. She regularly represents PRC at conferences, in the media, and before Congress. Karen has published op-eds in the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Detroit Free Press, is quoted regularly in national news outlets such as the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, and has appeared on numerous news shows including the CBS Evening News, CNN, the NewsHour, Fox News, and Good Morning America. Karen has coordinated broad-based national initiatives to expand coverage for low-income workers and to advocate for a secure and adequate pension system to supplement Social Security for future retirees. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance. In her spare time, Karen writes satirical commentaries and songs.
