Physician administrator/specialist in public health. Former Deputy Surgeon General and Surgeon General.

Kenneth P. Moritsugu, MD, MPH, FACPM, is a specialist in public health and preventive medicine. A career officer in the US Public Health Service, he served as the Deputy Surgeon General of the United States for nine years, and the Surgeon General twice, for a total of two years. Upon his retirement after 37 years of public service, he was Vice President for Diabetes Solutions with Johnson & Johnson, from which he retired after 6 years. He is presently the President and CEO of First Samurai Consulting, LLC, a firm specializing in bridging health solutions between the public and the private sectors. Present activity is in organ and tissue donation and transplantation, road safety, medical marijuana, and infection control.
