Kerthy Fix’s very first film credit was on the indie classic, Slacker. Her first television credit was on the PBS series Austin City Limits holding cue cards for Willie Nelson. More recently, she co-produced the six-part series, FLYING: Confessions of a Free Woman with director Jennifer Fox for the Sundance Channel (2008). The series premiered at the IDFA Film Festival in Amsterdam as well as at Sundance, 2007. She also co-produced Hotel Gramercy Park (Tribeca Film Festival, 2008, Sundance Channel, 2009) with acclaimed filmmaker Douglas Keeve (Unzipped). In 2009, she co-produced the independent distribution for the documentary, Who Does She Think She Is? which will air on PBS stations in Spring 2011.
Besides directing and producing Strange Powers, she has written a feature script about Christine Jorgensen, the first famous transsexual, with Craig Harwood (Producer, Paternal Instinct). Entitled The Most Famous Woman in the World, it was one of five scripts accepted into the Outfest 2009 ScriptLab and won the Newfest 2009 Script Competition. In 2010, Kerthy directed Le Tigre: On Tour which follows the band on the last world tour and is currently screening in select film festivals.
