Kim D. Stryker

Organizer of the grassroots campaign, Save the Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Kim D. Stryker is a folklorist and organizer of the grassroots campaign, Save the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. As a native to the Washington metro area, Ms. Stryker has attended the Folklife Festival annually on the National Mall since she was a small child. As an adult, she became a contractor with the Festival, planning educational programming for children and engaging summer camp groups with the Festival programs. Now, she has started this campaign in order to raise awareness of how planned renovations to the National Mall would result in the displacement of many treasured events.
