Kirsten Palladino

cofounder of / author, Equally Wed: The Ultimate Guide to Planning Your LGBTQ+ Wedding

Kirsten Palladino is an award-winning writer and editor. She’s the co-founder of the world’s leading online modern LGBTQ wedding magazine, Equally Wed, and has been featured in and on a myriad of luminary publications and media outlets, from The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Lucky magazine to ABC News, CNN, NPR, DailyCandy, Politico and Glamour magazine. Her established career in magazines and newspapers made the creation of Equally Wed with her wife, Maria, a graphic designer and web developer, an obvious foray into media entrepreneurship when they experienced cruel exclusion from traditional wedding media outlets and discrimination from wedding professionals when planning their own June 2009 nuptials. The legally married creative duo launched Equally Wed in March 2010. In 2015, Glamour magazine named Palladino a Hometown Hero for its Women of the Year issue. She is a Georgia native and an equality activist in her hometown and abroad. Palladino regularly speaks about LGBTQ inclusion in the wedding industry, as well as writes about LGBTQ weddings and equality at large on Her first book, Equally Wed: The Ultimate Guide to Planning Your LGBTQ+ Wedding (May 2017, Seal Press), is available wherever books are sold.
