Kristin Lau is a Toronto-based photographer from Queens, New York. She's focused on social documentary, portraiture and the environment. She seeks out stories that raise awareness about the environment to evoke positive change for the natural world and its inhabitants.
With roots in Hong Kong and living close to 10-years overseas, Kristin has gained an appreciation for diverse cultures and developed a strong passion for outdoor pursuits, nature and the environment. She is also a PADI Open Water Scuba diving Instructor, freediver, martial artist, and mountaineer.
Kristin’s work is currently in exhibition for the C40 2016 Mayor's summit hosted in Mexico City addressing climate change, and recently exhibited at COP21 Paris 2015 UN Climate Change Conference and Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto. She has recently been featured in ASIAN Geographic Magazine and awarded in the Prix De la Photographie (PX3) Competition for her series in Nepal.
