Kristina Cowan

Author and journalist

Kristina Cowan has been a journalist for 20 years. In the early days, she covered education and policy, first in Chicago, and later in Washington, D.C. She was happily back in Chicago by the time she had her first child, in 2009. She’d been planning on a baby, but not a traumatic birth or the bout of postpartum depression that followed. It was then that she developed an interest in writing about mental health. It remains at the heart of what she does. Her first book, which details her postpartum experience and those of other parents, is due out in the second half of 2016. She has also written for AOL, Yahoo, PayScale, Harvard University, the Kellogg School of Management, the American Council on Education and Today’s Christian Woman.
