Laren Marra is a Director in the Corporate Practice and a leader of the Corporate Responsibility offering of Burson-Marsteller. She has more than 12 years of demonstrated achievement in public relations, partnering with clients to integrate corporate reputation, corporate responsibility and sustainability, issues and crisis management and cause branding to solve complex business challenges.

An expert on corporate responsibility strategy and reporting, Laren helps clients transition their reporting structure into a more metrics-based approach. For Burson-Marsteller’s Corporate Responsibility offering, she advises current and prospective clients on materiality, stakeholder engagement and more.

Prior to Burson-Marsteller, Laren held positions at Cone, LLC, and Weber Shandwick creating comprehensive corporate responsibility and sustainability impact programs. For a leading chocolate producer, Laren led the cocoa sustainability business which work raised awareness internally and externally of the importance of sustainability. These efforts ultimately led to sustainability becoming one of three core pillars in a global rebranding effort.

A decade ago, she gained a great deal of experience serving as an intern with The Stanley Foundation, Office of Weapons and National Security; The White House, Office of the Press Secretary; and the NATO Partnership Coordination Cell, Programs & Analysis, S.H.A.P.E. Headquarters in Belgium.

Laren has an MBA in Global Sustainability and Strategy from Boston University School of Management and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies and Political Science from the University of Iowa, graduating with honors. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts with her husband and three children.
