Laura Kraber

Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

Laura has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. In addition to her private practice at Brooklyn Nutrition, Laura works with Dr. Frank Lipman at his functional medicine center, the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center. She also offers workshops and seminars in New York area schools and at corporations, focusing on how our food and lifestyle choices affect our health and well-being.

Through dietary changes as well as nutritional supplements, Laura helps her clients resolve digestive illnesses and identify food sensitivities. She also works with clients to lose weight, achieve restful sleep, reduce stress, and integrate traditional foods into their lives. She develops specific dietary plans tailored to individual biochemistry and lifestyle, advocating a whole-foods diet low in sugar and processed foods. When appropriate, Laura recommends practitioners in complementary fields to support a client's overall health.

Laura is committed to a diet in accordance with the principles of Weston Price: vegetables, fermented foods, healthy fats, pastured, organic animal products. When she and her 6 year old son were both diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2011, Laura radically changed her family's diet, removing gluten and processed foods, and abandoning decades of vegetarianism. Inspired by her family's greatly improved health, she ultimately left her career in digital communications to pursue her dream of becoming a nutritionist.
