Writer, reader, cook, eater

Laura Chávez Silverman is a writer, a reader, a cook, an eater, a fledgling gardener and a longtime nature-lover. After many years in Manhattan, she made the move to live full-time in a 1935 cedar-shingle cottage in Sullivan County, in upstate New York near the Delaware River, where she blogs about eating, gardening, home, health and travel. She's also hard at work on her first novel.

Laura believes that living well really is the best revenge. She advocates eating adventurously, for health and pleasure, and for expanding your mind and your palate, not your waistline. By staying close to nature and exploring its ability to nourish and heal, you can discover truly shameless indulgence—at the table, in the garden, at home or on the road.
