Laurie H. Glimcher, MD

Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine

Laurie H. Glimcher, MD is the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine and Provost for Medical Affairs of Cornell University. Prior to joining Weill Cornell in 2012, Dr. Glimcher was at Harvard Medical School where she headed one of the top immunology programs in the world. Dr. Glimcher's laboratory discovered new genes in the immune system that are critical for the development of protective immunity and for the pathologic immune responses underlying autoimmune, infectious, allergic and malignant diseases.

Among her many awards and honors, Dr. Glimcher is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the National Academy of Sciences USA, and a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Additionally, Dr. Glimcher has been a board member at both Bristol-Myers Squibb and the Waters Corporation since 1997. At Bristol-Myers, she is the longest-serving current Board member, and founded their Science and Technology Committee.
