Newspaper journalism was my passion and my love for nearly 30 years. It was fast-paced, never dull and always challenging, and it allowed me to work with some of the smartest people in the world. (And also some of the most infuriating. But I wouldn't change a minute of it.) After retiring from nearly 30 years in journalism, I found a way to continue to tell real stories (I still can't stomach a fake one). First at pediatric hospitals, then at a zoo. I cherish the patients and families I served in health care, and I walked in awe of the majesty of the creatures I see firsthand. I love, and live, the changes social media has brought to the world of storytelling and information-sharing. And I can't wait to see what comes next. Previously: Journalist. EMT. Writer. Breast cancer survivor.
