Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner’s chief of staff

Lee Burdick, former Chief of Staff to disgraced San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, was born in Kansas City, Missouri to working class parents. She was the first member of her family to get a college degree and went on to earn her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Burdick started her career in D.C. before relocating to San Francisco and later to San Diego. She has practiced business, employment, land use and government administrative law for over 25 years.

Prior to her work for the City of San Diego’s Mayor’s Office, she was a Port of San Diego commissioner; a COO and legal counsel for a technology company; partner at a major San Diego law firm; the executive director of the California Health Care Coalition, a statewide healthcare coalition; and director of government affairs and general counsel for Jimsair Aviation Services at San Diego International Airport Lindbergh Field.

Lee enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Buster.
