Adventure philanthropist
Len Stanmore has achieved success in many areas both personally and professionally. While growing successful businesses fulfilled Stanmore’s entrepreneurial nature, he found himself overweight and out of shape and desiring a more healthy lifestyle. Always drawn to a challenge, he decided to pursue a huge physical quest and trained to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2001. This proved to be a life changing experience for Stanmore and it was the beginning of his long list of boundary pushing accomplishments. Now his dedication to these pursuits has become a full time goal. Stanmore is dedicated to raising money for Trekking for Kids, a socially conscious trekking organization that benefits orphans around the world. Stanmore raised funds for Trekking for Kids when he reached the South Pole and will once again dedicate his last desert crossing to raising awareness and funds for TFK. Stanmore has been married to his wife Elizabeth for 30 years and has two children and three grandchildren. His quest to be the ultimate global explorer has always been a true family affair as Elizabeth accompanied him to Everest Base Camp in 2006 and has always been supportive of the hours of rigorous training Stanmore undergoes daily.
