Leticia Bustillos

K-20 education pipeline expert, consultant to several national, remedial education focused projects.

Leticia Tomas Bustillos has over 13 years experience working across the K-20 education pipeline. Between 1997 and 2004, she was a teacher, technology coordinator and a reading specialist with the Montebello Unified School District. Upon receiving her Ph.D. in education policy from the University of Southern California in 2007, she taught preservice teachers and postsecondary administrators as an assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University, Whittier College and the University of Southern California. Since 2008 she has served as Co-Director of the Policy Research on Preparation, Access and Remedial Education (PRePARE) Project whose focus is on examining the impact remedial education policies have on student success. In addition, she is a consultant on several national based projects focused on remedial education, including the Getting Past Go Project and the Lumina-MSI Models of Success Program.
