Liam Brockey is a professor of History at Michigan State University and a specialist in the history of early modern Europe and Catholicism. He is the author of The Visitor: André Palmeiro and the Jesuits in Asia (Harvard University Press, forthcoming summer 2014) and Journey to the East: The Jesuit Mission to China, 1579-1724 (Harvard University Press, 2007), as well as numerous studies about religion and culture in the Renaissance.
