Linda Bacon, Ph.D., MA, MA, is an author, researcher and professor. She earned her doctorate in physiology, specializing in weight regulation, from the University of California, Davis. She also holds graduate degrees in psychology, specializing in eating disorders and body image, and kinesiology, specializing in exercise metabolism. Bacon is currently a nutrition professor in the Biology Department at City College of San Francisco and also serves as an associate nutritionist at the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Bacon is recognized as an industry-independent expert and has no financial ties to the food, diet or pharmaceutical industry. All proceeds generated by her writing or speaking are channeled into community service.
