Linda Silverman


Growing up, I never had a burning urge, or any particular urge to become a teacher. I was a child of the projects whose only contact with college graduates was with the teachers in my schools. My dad worked two jobs and my mom worked as well so I knew I had to graduate and get a job to give them some financial relief. This was in the early 70’s. There was no career guidance. I did the only thing I could think of, I became a teacher.
