Lisa Birnbach

Lisa Birnbach first struck a chord with the American public as the editor and co-author of The Official Preppy Handbook, which spent an impressive 38 weeks at number one on the New York Times bestseller list. Since then Lisa has written for everyone from the New York Times to Rolling Stone. She was the deputy editor of SPY magazine, which means she knows where all the good dirt is buried. Lisa has authored or co-authored 21 books. Her latest are 40% Off is the New Black and True Prep: It's A Whole New Old World.

Lisa has appeared on a variety of television programs, including Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Today Show, and Politically Incorrect. Lisa also had a weekly segment called "Yikes, I'm a Grown Up!" for CBS' The Early Show, offering her humor and unique reflections on life in the new millennium as women come of age and take on roles of wife, mother, and daughter. Lisa lives in New York with her three children.
