Lisa Johnson Smith

Breast Cancer Survivor, NBA Wife, Mother, Daughter of the King, Real Estate Agent, TVHost/Producer, Amateur Artist, Dog Lover, Teen Mentor

Lisa Johnson Smith’s career includes over 20 years of experience in
Broadcast Journalism in entertainment, sports, news, and talk. Two weeks
after graduating from college, she became the first Host and Producer of
the Emmy-nominated and award-winning national talk show “Teen
Summit” on Black Entertainment Television, and the youngest person ever
to host a live, nationally-syndicated talk show.

Producing and hosting a live, one-hour show, with a live studio audience
for almost 5 years gave her a foundation and skill-set that few on-air
personalities possess.

After marrying former NBA player Charles Smith, she relocated to New York City
during his stint with the New York Knicks. There, she joined CNN as reporter and producer on “Show Biz Today” and “The Turner Entertainment Report”. Her career continued to blossom, as Host of “HBO Entertainment News” and Co-Host of “Delta In-Flight”, along side of “The Today Show’s” Matt Lauer.

Another NBA trade to the San Antonio Spurs brought her family
to San Antonio, Texas. There, she made a name for herself as an
Entertainment Reporter at ABC affiliate KSAT-TV as an entertainment Reporter/Host and Producer.

Back in New York in 1998 after her husband’s retirement from the NBA,
Johnson Smith hit the ground running. She hosted both sports and
entertainment shows on MSG, and NBA Entertainment, BET, The Fine Living
Network, and TV Land, all the while raising a family. She has also been featured in numerous commercial spots for Breyers Ice cream, Tysons Food, and Ace
Hardware, to name a few.

Since 2004, Johnson Smith has been a licensed Real Estate Agent in New
Jersey, where she quickly achieved a high-level of success.

Her proudest achievement is her three boys who all have healthy
appetites. She enjoys preparing healthy, delicious, and fun food for her
family and loved ones who look forward to her latest culinary creations.

In 2006, she also discovered her passion for painting and has completed
over 25 different works. In addition, she is an avid reader, outdoors person,
and loves spending time with her family and her beloved three dogs. For
over 25 years, she has enjoyed mentoring and teaching teenagers. She is
proud to be a born-again Christian and attributes her entire life and
success to God.

In October of 2014, she was diagnosed with Stage 2-3 Breast Cancer. This
has changed her entire outlook on life, and she has been on the difficult
road to recovery since. Her desire is to provide hope, encouragement,
and support to other women who are going through this ordeal by sharing
her personal journey of healing.
