Lisa Shufro

Lisa Shufro is TEDMED’s Managing Editor and Producer. She leads the organization’s mission to identify and select presenters to dazzle the TEDMED community. Like TEDMED, Lisa’s background is multi-disciplinary. A Yale University graduate with a degree in music, she played and taught professionally for 20 years. Prior to working at TEDMED and a business invention think tank Walker Digital, she held a leadership role at Synapse Group, a marketing subsidiary of TimeWarner. There she helped build and launch several new businesses for several Fortune 100 partners. Lisa is also a health educator with expertise in the healing power of movement. While on the faculty of the Feldenkrais Insitute of New York, she helped acrobats recover from falls, musicians to sing, swimmers to breathe, children with motor disabilities to dance, and people with injured knees to finish their first 5Ks. She draws from all these disciplines to find speakers who will inform, amaze, surprise, entertain and, ultimately, inspire everyone who experiences the TEDMED stage program.
