Internationally-recognized nutritionist; International speaker; Portion size expert; Author, 'The Portion Teller Plan'; Adjunct professor of nutrition at NYU

Lisa R. Young, Ph.D., R.D., C.D.N. is an internationally recognized nutritionist and portion control expert. Dr. Young’s accomplishments include: author, international lecturer, adjunct professor of nutrition at New York University, and media consultant. Widely considered an expert on portion sizes, Young is the author of The Portion Teller Plan (Crown/Random House), named one of the best health books by The Wall Street Journal and O, The Oprah Magazine. As an internationally recognized expert, Dr. Young regularly lectures, publishes academic peer-review and popular articles, and is an advocate for healthy eating and portion control. Dr. Young is routinely called upon by major media outlets as an expert voice on nutrition, diet, wellness, and portion control. Dr. Young is a nutritionist in private practice and counsels adults, children, and families on a wide variety of health and nutrition issues. She has participated in clinical obesity research studies at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center; and has consulted for various weight management programs in New York City. She currently consults on nutrition with corporations and schools on healthy eating and wellness. Dr. Young received her doctorate and master’s degrees in Nutrition from NYU, and her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Health Care Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a registered dietitian. The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) named Young a “Woman of Action.”
