He also serves on the Committee on Jewish Genetic Diseases and Cancer Genetics Subcommittee for the Jewish United Fund.<br /> <br /> After receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Schechter completed his residency in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
