Vice President, Girls Marketing, Mattel

As Vice President of Girls Marketing, Lori Pantel oversees brand strategy, marketing and product development for Mattel’s core girls’ brands consisting of Little Mommy™ and Polly Pocket™ ensuring a cohesive global brand DNA. In this role, she also continues to cultivate new girls’ brands such as Mattel’s successful multi-category, multi-platform global franchise, Monster High™.


Pantel has effectively redefined brand strategies for core Mattel businesses since joining the company in 2002 as an Associate Brand Manager on the company’s Barbie® brand, overseeing various Barbie® fashion and entertainment business campaigns to reinforce the iconic fashion doll as the ultimate lifestyle brand for girls. In 2009, Pantel was promoted to senior director of international marketing, expanding her role to lead development of marketing strategies and objectives for Barbie® dolls, accessories, electronics and brand campaigns worldwide, and ultimately transforming the way the Barbie® brand operated from a global perspective.


Prior to joining Mattel, Pantel was a founding member of a boutique management firm that specialized in operations and manufacturing redesign where she led client service teams on top management issues including operational effectiveness, organization redesign and more.


She received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and holds a M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.


Pantel resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons Jack and Will.
