Lorraine Branham is dean of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. For 25 years, she was a working journalist and held positions at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Baltimore Sun and other papers. She was director of the School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin before coming to Newhouse.
