Lou Miceli

Lou Miceli has been the Executive Director of JobsFirstNYC since 2010. JobsFirstNYC is a workforce intermediary organization working among philanthropic, non-profit, civic, and business leadership to pursue a goal of reducing the out-of-school, out-of-work young people ages 16 -24 in New York City by 5% five years. In his efforts to achieve this goal, Miceli has inaugurated several projects – including the Young Adult Sectoral Employment Project – to accelerate the connection of young people to the labor market.

Miceli brings nearly two decades of practitioner experience in the young adult workforce development system, and presently works both as an advocate for systemic reform and as a change agent to motivate and support a new era of leadership to improve this system. Prior to JobsFirstNYC, Miceli served as the Executive Director of Workforce Professionals Training Institute, a New York City-based training and technical assistance organization which he founded in 2003. Miceli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Social Work degree for the Silver School of Social Work at New York University, and a Master of Science in Management degree at the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. He sits on numerous boards concerned with the public interest. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and three daughters.
