Louis Charbonneau is the UN director at Human Rights Watch, which he joined in 2016. He was previously a reporter at Reuters for the better part of two decades, most recently as its UN bureau chief. During his journalism career, he reported from dozens of countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia and had postings in Prague, Hong Kong, Vienna, Berlin and New York.
