National Director of The Trans Women of Color Collective

Lourdes Ashley Hunter is the National Director of The Trans Women of Color Collective. Lourdes pronouns are Goddess, Queen Sister. Originally from Detroit, Lourdes spent 12 years in New York City as a Community Organizer and in non-profit management. Ms. Hunter Currently resides in Washington D.C. where she is the Chief Communications Officer for the DC Center for the LGBT Community. Goddess is a Healer, orator and thought leader of initiatives that center the narratives, lived experiences and leadership of trans and gender non-conforming people of color in social justice movements. She is also part of the leadership team of Black Lives Matter. Lourdes has earned a Bachelor degree in Social Theory, Structure and Change with concentrations in Race, Class and Gender Studies from SUNY: Empire State College and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University.
