I’m a writer, editor, and historian. My blog, www.sanitypapers.com focuses on women's rights, women in politics, and women's aging. I have a Ph.D. in the History of Consciousness from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a B.A. in American Literature from the University of Warwick in England. I’ve retired from a varied career working in history and art museums. I’ve written a book on the transatlantic slave trade, as well as various essays on history, art, and other issues that have moved my imagination.
