Author, 'Churchill's Secret War: The British Empire and the Ravaging of India During World War II'

Madhusree Mukerjee is a journalist specializing in the interface between science and society. She has authored two nonfiction books, Churchill’s Secret War: The British Empire and the Ravaging of India During World War II (2010) and The Land of Naked People: Encounters with Stone Age Islanders (2003). She has a doctorate in physics from the University of Chicago, has served on the board of editors of Scientific American magazine, and received a Guggenheim fellowship for her first book. She is currently working on a book that will profile an indigenous anti-development struggle in India.
